A Brief History of the BMDTC.

It all started when…

In June 1981, an advertisement was placed in the local paper hoping to attract some interest in obedience classes in the area. The response was far greater than anticipated and the first class was held a Lawson Oval in February 1981.

In June 1982, daytime classes commenced at Mt Victoria and moved to Blackheath in 1985. The club affiliated with the then RASKC in 1982 and we held our first obedience trial at Katoomba Showground in September 1983.

The achievements of this club in trialling and obedience would not exist without a tremendous band of willing helpers who turn up to take classes and do the many tiresome tasks so necessary to keep the club going.
